Gentle cruising through Thailand’s eastern islands — calm seas, spa resorts, and easy cultural immersion.
A Coastal Passage from Samui to the Cambodian Frontier
A gentle yet striking contrast to the Andaman’s rugged drama, the Gulf of Siam reveals another side of Southeast Asia — softer light, wide coral shelves, and an unhurried rhythm shaped by monsoon and tide. The Gulf of Siam Odyssey follows a sweeping curve across southern Thailand’s east coast, threading from Koh Samui through Koh Tao’s crystalline reefs, past Cambodia’s outer islands, and onward to the lush marine parks near the Vietnamese border. This is a voyage of subtle discovery: quiet anchorages beneath limestone headlands, evenings spent drifting beneath lantern-lit skies, mornings exploring coral slopes alive with parrotfish and fan corals. Culturally rich and scenically diverse, it combines timeless seafaring with a coastal route still largely untouched by mainstream tourism.
Day 1 – Koh Samui Embarkation
Join your yacht at Samui’s Fisherman’s Village pier. After a warm welcome from the crew and a safety briefing, set course for Ang Thong Marine Park. Anchor amid emerald lagoons and limestone pinnacles before a sunset swim and dinner of Thai fusion cuisine prepared by your onboard chef.
Day 2 – Ang Thong Marine Park
Awake in an amphitheatre of karst islands. Kayak through narrow channels and climb to the famous Blue Lagoon lookout. Lunch aboard while cruising past uninhabited isles teeming with seabirds. Evening anchorage in calm waters — cocktails served as long-tail boats drift homeward.
Day 3 – Koh Tao
Sail northeast to Koh Tao, Thailand’s legendary dive island. Spend the day exploring the Japanese Gardens reef or deeper pinnacles like Chumphon. Your expert dive master leads guided dives and coral restoration experiences. Dine ashore at a rustic beachfront restaurant known for its grilled squid and lemongrass rum.
Day 4 – Koh Nang Yuan
Short morning sail to the three islets of Koh Nang Yuan. Walk the sandbar connecting them, snorkel over shallow coral gardens, and enjoy a relaxed brunch on deck. Afternoon sail eastward into open water, setting a course for the Gulf’s lesser-known outer islands.
Day 5 – Koh Losin & Open Sea Passage
A full day under sail. Stop at Koh Losin, a remote pinnacle rising from the deep — famed among divers for pristine visibility and pelagic encounters. Dive or observe from tender before continuing east under steady wind. The evening unfolds beneath clear starlight with dinner served al fresco.
Day 6 – Koh Rong (Cambodia)
Arrive at Cambodia’s coast and clear customs at Koh Rong. The island’s coconut-fringed beaches and translucent waters invite exploration. Visit a local fishing hamlet and learn how community-led conservation protects coral and seagrass meadows. Dinner onboard features Khmer-inspired flavours and Mekong herbs.
Day 7 – Koh Rong Samloem
Cruise south to Koh Rong Samloem, anchoring in the calm of Saracen Bay. Snorkel over shallow coral reefs, kayak through mangroves, or take a guided walk to the island’s lighthouse for sweeping views. Sunset cocktails followed by a seafood grill on the aft deck.
Day 8 – Ream National Park
Sail toward Sihanoukville’s Ream National Park, a mosaic of mangroves, estuaries, and coral-fringed islands. Join park rangers for a guided zodiac trip into the channels, spotting kingfishers, otters, and saltwater crocodiles. Evening at leisure beneath a soft tropical dusk.
Day 9 – Koh Ta Kiev & Koh Ses
Spend the day hopping between deserted islands. At Koh Ta Kiev, snorkel over kaleidoscopic reefs and explore coastal jungle trails. Lunch onshore in a rustic beach hut where local fishermen prepare grilled snapper with lime and green mango.
Day 10 – Koh Thmei & Phu Quoc Approach
A longer cruise north brings the Vietnamese coastline into view. Drop anchor near Koh Thmei, where coral slopes give way to dense mangrove forest. Observe the changing currents and languages as cultures shift subtly between borders.
Day 11 – Phu Quoc Island (Vietnam)
Clear into Vietnam at Phu Quoc, known for its pepper farms and pearl cultivation. Visit the island’s southern coast and taste locally distilled fish sauce — a centuries-old craft. Farewell dinner on deck celebrates the voyage with Mekong Delta ingredients and tropical cocktails.
Day 12 – Disembarkation at Phu Quoc
Breakfast at sunrise as the yacht glides into Duong Dong Marina. Disembarkation and onward transfer to Phu Quoc Airport or resort extensions along Vietnam’s coast.
